MONTH OF CONSECRATION – JANUARY 2021
THEME: MAINTAINING OUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH IN A TIME OF CRISIS
SCRIPTURE: 1 TIMOTHY 4
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11 These things command and teach.
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
AIM
The aim is to seek God, His will and His power in our lives. The scripture tells us that God responds to those who wholeheartedly, passionately, diligently, humbly and consistently seek Him (Deuteronomy 4:29; 2Chronicles 7:14; Jeremiah 29:13; Matthew 6:33). It is hoped that every believer will experience God in a new and fresh way as we commit to Him during this period of consecration. The primary goal is to draw closer to God, experience His presence, allow him to speak to us individually and as a church as we pray together over the next four weeks. As such, throughout the month of January 2021, we will rededicate ourselves, all systems, programs, and ways of doing things to Jesus Christ so He may direct and instruct us as it pleases Him.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this special consecration are that the Holy Ghost will rekindle our hearts and awaken in us new desires in the following priority areas:
Unity in the body of Christ
Evangelism
Operating in the miraculous
The outpouring of the Holy Ghost on the unfilled
METHODOLOGY

INTRODUCTION
The last ten months have been very disruptive and challenging. The pandemic has brought on so many different things. Seducing spirits and doctrines of devils are now very rampant. The pandemic has reshaped our lives in so many different ways. Parents are faced with the challenge of how to balance work and home school. Compounding the pain and loss of losing a love one is the inability to grieve as before as well as the inability to physically attend funerals. The mounting pressures brought on by the loss of income due to the pandemic has been a big challenge for many families. People around the globe are hoping that with the introduction of a vaccine the pandemic will end soon.
This period requires us to maintain our physical health by following the protocols. However, If we are to survive this time, we must not only maintain our physical health but also our spiritual health and follow biblical protocols. Maintaining our spiritual health begins with us having a good healthy relationship with God and heeding the word of God. Amidst the growing pressures that will cause us to want to give up, we must put our trust in God. He said I’ll never leave you; I’ll never forsake you; I’ll be with you always even to the end of the world.
In the face of any crisis, it is important to stay in God’s presence. We must stand firmly on the promises of God knowing that God is supreme and all powerful. We don’t know what tomorrow holds but our ability to navigate tomorrow calls for us to maintain our spiritual health. It will require us to allow God to shape our hearts, our minds and guide us as we respond to a changing world. We must yield ourselves to the power of the Holy Ghost. We must skilfully use the spiritual weapons God has provided to combat the forces of evil arrayed against us. Technology has opened up a space where all kinds of things are coming at us in this time. We are called to be watchful, vigilant and not to be carried away by every wind of doctrine. Bible truths are not negotiable. Now more than ever we must seek to be faithful to the Word of God, allowing it to shape our thinking and mould our behaviour. As children of the living God, we must be models of integrity and morality. Our future will depend on our steadfastness.
